Spinning my Wheels

Last night I read my Attachment in Adoption book until way too late. All really good stuff, but not so great when I woke up at 5:30 with the burgeoning list of things to do. Yes, we have a lot to do between now and Sunday but motivating to do it is proving tough for both of us. John needs to do so much for the business but can't concentrate to save his life because he just wants to scoop up Isaac right now and begin our life as a family of 4. One great thing that happened today was a gift of a week at the Marriott Suits while we are there. This will help us out so much.

We also picked up a bed that we will be able to use until we officially put together a room for the boys in a few months.

Emerson and I went for a nice swim and John is in the process of putting together a room.

Here is what I learned new about Isaac today. He is from Zhuhai City in the Guandong Province. This is on the very southern coast of China. His Chinese name was Zhu Zheng Yang. Zhu= Wish Zheng= Strong. We have not decided yet about his middle name.

Here is the Countdown:
5 Days until we leave
7 days until we meet him
12 days until he comes to stay with us

  2. Beth, each of them will have a twin bed. The both love Cars stuff and Thomas the Train so Red and Blue are big. Isaac will be bringing his bedding with him because this is such a huge comfort item for kids this age.

  4. So does Isaac stay as his name? It's a really nice name, and goes well with Emerson! So excited that this is rapidly happening, no matter the long wait, it's still much faster than Emerson's "birth" into your family!!!

  5. Nothing like a deadline to motivate you! How interesting that you are getting information about him in little tidbits - I can imagine that it is VERY hard to concentrate given that! Now that our adoption of Irina is final I am getting VERY anxious to get back to pick her up. Now to get started on her room.... it is quite the task, isn't it?

  6. Karon, our stomachs are in knots and twists as we follow-along. We can't imagine the stress, excitement, nerves, flury of activity, etc.!! Unbelievable that it is going to be here soooo quickly. Sending tons of positive karma and support!!

  7. So, yeah, we are not going to Kazakhstan anymore for the second adopton due to this situation materializing. We were not sure if we were going to be able to continue even if this did not come up. When our dossier was sent back, that ment $1,000's more and a lot more time with the threat of an age limit for parents.

  9. Karon and John, for me Creation agrues a God, history argues a Messiah, and your saga argues a personal guiding Spirit. I've gotten swept up and energized by your lives & am glad to be in the cheering section. Go, guys; you're making every day count.
